HORIZONTAL BORING MACHINIST
PRINCIPAL / PROJECT:
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist.
- At least 1 year of post-secondary education, preferably in Machining or Industrial Technology.
- Proficient in programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines, with experience using 5-axis CNC machines.
- Familiarity with stone materials, particularly granite.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to verify product dimensions.
- Strong attention to detail in documenting and reporting deviations from specifications and tolerances.
- Proficient in completing CNC machine setups (e.g., jig mounting, zeroing, tool mounting).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve CNC machinery issues.
- Able to work day and evening shifts and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant machining position
- Diploma in a relevant field
- Experience operating horizontal boring machines
- Proficiency in machine set-up, programming, and machining
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Fagor CNC controllers
- Experience working with parts up to 2 meters in size
- Ability to verify dimensions and ensure product accuracy using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work on a day or evening shift (40 hours per week)
- Experience working with various materials, including steel, plastic, cast iron, and bronze
